Kōmyō-in Zen Temple

Kōmyō-in, a sub-temple of Tōfuku-ji Temple famously known as the Rainbow Moss Temple, offers the opportunity to engage in Zazen meditation while contemplating the beautiful dry landscape garden called “Hashintei,” designed by the renowned garden designer Shigemori Mirei during the Showa period. During this meditation practice, one can engage in a dialogue with the head priest and strive to achieve a state of serenity by embracing and accepting everything conveyed through the five senses. The harmony of body and mind is believed to be achieved as the mind becomes aligned, resulting in a profound sense of enrichment for both the mind and body.
